At South Street Honey we celebrate bees... because without them, we wouldn't exist! Literally. They make our honey. Honey bees collect nectar to create honey and store as food because it provides the energy for bees to fly and heating for the colony in the winter months. The good news for us is that honey bees, given the right conditions, will always make more honey than their hive needs, so we just bottle what's left over.

“Happy bees” is our motto here at South Street Honey. What started out as a small 2 hive apiary in 2006 soon becoming a thriving business, with multiple farmland apiarys, managed 'local' business hives, dozens of managed backgarden beehives and a variety of products. In everything that we do, we are committed to working in a holistic, bee forward, earth friendly way. Our bees are the drivers to our business and they dictate the speed and direction of our business. If you want to learn more, get in touch today.

As hive keepers, we are lucky enough to benefit from the spoils of the bee colonies that live in our hives. We are just the caretakers, and are the lucky ones. Our ethics are the same today as they were back in 2006, and at the heart of our business are the bees. We work in the least intrusive ways possible, only disturbing our hives when we really need to, and if the colonies have no surplus of the spoils of there hard work, we do not harvest.
